Job summary

Cemex US is seeking a Plant Process Engineer to maximize production and KPI performance while ensuring environmental and quality standards are met. You will lead process engineering activities, perform analyses, troubleshoot, and optimize processes in the cement plant.

The role emphasizes safety, training, and collaboration across departments, with substantial responsibility for continuous improvement and equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related major.
• 5 years progressive experience within the heavy industrial manufacturing industry.
• Previous cement process experience is a plus.
• Previous continuous process, bulk-material handling operation experience may also be considered beneficial.
• Must possess at least a basic understanding of raw geologic materials (i.e. limestone, clay, sand,iron ore etc.), a basic understanding of their chemical composition, and a familiarity with the crushing, grinding, blending, kiln processing, cooling, and conveyance of those materials.
• 2-5 years progressive experience in cement.
• Availability at all times to work and resolve issues of assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant improvement projects; eliminate equipment restrictions and implement upgrades to improve KPI performance.
• Provide expertise to plant personnel and identify training requirements to reach standard levels.
• Perform mass and heat balances and PID optimization; diagnose and troubleshoot equipment.
• Ensure safe operations; enforce safety rules and conduct risk assessments.
• Maintain process flow charts, equipment information, and PI/Seeq power user activities.
• Drive data logging and action follow-up for continuous improvement.
