Job summary

Ecovyst in Hammond, IN seeks a chemical process engineer to provide day-to-day process engineering support within the production operation, focusing on troubleshooting, optimization, and unit performance.

You will monitor data with PI Vision, lead MDC debottlenecking, manage variable manufacturing cost, support PHAs/PHMP, MOC, and SOP updates, collaborating with Operations leadership to improve safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering required; 2–5 years of process engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with PI Vision usage.
• Experience with production cost analysis and VMC data.
• MDC testing and debottlenecking experience preferred.
• PSM/PHMP familiarity with OSHA 1910.119 elements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze process data using PI Vision; track key variables across production units.
• Provide production troubleshooting and corrective guidance.
• Own MDC testing and debottlenecking; maximize MDC rate.
• Own VMC oversight; monitor cost drivers and reduce operating costs.
• Support PHAs, PHMP reviews, and regulatory documentation.
• Assist MOC process, SOP maintenance, and CI initiatives.
