WHAT YOU WILL DO

As Plant Process Engineer you will report directly to the Heath Plant Manager, and indirectly to the Regional Process Manager.In this capacity, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing production processes via technical approaches, lean manufacturing techniques, and daily production process troubleshooting. This role serves as the Heath Plant liaison between the Plant Operations, Product Development, and the Regional Process Manager.You will take part in the ongoing process training of Production Operators and teams, and will be a core member of the Heath Plant Leadership team.

Your most critical deliverables for this role are:

·Daily review of “last 24 hours” production results and “next 24 hours” production demands to identify problem products and improvement opportunities, and develop/implement associated corrective actions

·This role generates process documentation including improving the accuracy and detail of Standard Operating Conditions (SOCs) and process work instructions

·Leads new product scale up activities such as planning / overseeing initial production runs and developing required process documentation and work intructions related to manufacturing.

·Member of Regional Process Team – regular collaboration and occasional project requirements

·Organize and execute formal Manufacturing trial processes, documentation, and communication

·Collaborates with Facility Engineering and Production teams to plan, design, and optimize manufacturing workflows and production cells

·Collaborate with Facility Engineering group in planning capital improvements, responsible for machine specification

·Leads production teams in lean manufacturing initiatives such as Six Sigma, SMED (Change over time reduction), 3P (Production Planning Process), structured problem solving (8D, A3, 5Y) and Kaizen

·B.S. in Polymer Chemistry or Core Engineering discipline with 3 years of Plastics extrusion exposure and experience preferred

·Processing experience in masterbatch or upstream (Suppliers) or downstream industries (Customers)

·Lean and Lean Systems/Kaizen including experience analyzing complex data sets
