Job summary

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania seeks a Biological Sciences Undergraduate Intern to assist in the Plant Physiology Lab with a range of tasks and experiments. The student will learn plant physiology techniques, assist with data entry, solution prep, and care for lab plants.

The role offers opportunities to participate in transgenic plant production after training. Flexible schedule; minimum 3 hours per week commitment.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a biology or related degree at ESU.
Prior lab experience or coursework in plant biology or physiology preferred but not required.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to learn lab software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily lab tasks including cleaning, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
Set up, conduct, and document experiments under supervision.
Participate in transgenic plant production and maintenance after training.
Use lab software for data entry, analysis, and presentation.
Care for plants in the lab and greenhouse.
Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
Attend lab meetings and discuss research progress.
