Job summary

East Stroudsburg University Chemistry & Biochemistry department is seeking an Assistant Lab Technician. The student worker will assist with setup/teardown, prepare chemicals, restock, clean benches and assist with inventory under supervision.

Position pays $15.00 per hour, up to 20 hours per week. Must be an ESU student, with safe lab practices, dependability and the ability to follow directions; background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Must be a current ESU student enrolled in good standing.
• Familiarity with safe laboratory practices and procedures.
• Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and tearing down chemistry labs with help of the Chemistry Lab Technician.
• Preparing chemicals for labs from written or verbal directions.
• Loading and unloading the lab dishwasher.
• Hand washing dishes when necessary.
• Restocking labs with chemicals, glassware and consumables.
• Cleaning lab benches and hoods.
• Restocking chemicals to stockroom shelves.
• Organizing lab supplies.
• Assisting with inventory of chemicals and consumables.
• Picking up incoming orders with other student workers or the Chemistry Lab Technician.
