Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. in Millen, GA is seeking a Plant Level OpEx Coordinator to lead continuous improvement efforts at the mill. The role reports to the General Manager and focuses on reducing waste, improving safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory.

Responsibilities include training implementation, data collection, root-cause analysis, and coordinating Kaizen activities with the OpEx team to sustain improvements across the plant.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing, building industry and/or production experience.
• Basic computer skills to use Microsoft Office tools.
• Able to communicate OpEx concepts via MS Teams.
• Willingness to learn new concepts and remain open to different opinions.
• Hands-on experience with Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement methods.
• Strong leadership and ability to influence others.
• Ability to travel occasionally for training or to corporate offices.
• Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt or higher) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the plant OpEx efforts in implementing the plant's OpEx strategy and report findings to the OpEx team.
• Develop and execute a training plan for associates, supervisors, and managers to integrate Best Practices.
• Data collection, validation, performance tracking, and reporting using spreadsheet tools.
• Support onboarding process and lead OpEx topics.
• Own OpEx Value Stream Map findings and report progress.
• Conduct PVA audits and keep the PVA team updated.
• Ensure proper setup of equipment based on OpEx team materials.
• Ensure training, tools, and resources are accessible to all employees and used effectively.
• Lead reporting and root-cause analysis; coach teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory.
