Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. seeks a Plant Operator to assist with semi-skilled tasks around production facilities, including lubricating machinery, shoveling spills, and monitoring conveyors, shakers, crushers, feeders, and pumps.

Daily plant inspections and safety training are required. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year in aggregate/mining operations, experience with hand tools, and with heavy mining/construction equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year of aggregate/mining plant operations experience.
• Experience with a variety of hand tools.
• Experience with operation of heavy mining/construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently per training and manufacturer instructions.
• Adhere to MSHA and plant safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Perform pre-shift safety inspections on systems, equipment and accessories.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service equipment.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs to supervision.
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs.
• Responsible for good housekeeping of plant and equipment.
• Perform duties with minimum supervision.
• Assist with operation of other equipment as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
