Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Control Operator to oversee and maintain the safe operation of plant equipment, including steam generators, solar field, and turbines. You will monitor instruments, logs, and annunciator systems, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure reliability.

The role requires operating with high safety standards, participating in regulatory training, and working rotating shifts with overtime as needed. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills).
• Basic knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and control devices in power facilities.
• Experience with electrical/construction projects and basic IT equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees safe, efficient, reliable operation of plant equipment.
• Monitors data from instruments, charts, and monitoring systems.
• Troubleshoots and provides diagnosis for operational problems.
• Performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance as qualified.
• Works rotating shifts, including nights and weekends; overtime may be required.
