Job summary

Martin Marietta's Golden, CO plant seeks a Plant Operator to safely run, monitor, and maintain processing equipment, ensuring quality output and a clean, secure work environment.

You will perform inspections, manage wear-item inventories, and report defects while adhering to MSHA safety standards. No prior experience is required, but 6 months–1 year in aggregate plant operations is preferred. Strong mechanical and communicative skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• 6 months–1 year experience in Aggregate Plant Operations or similar Heavy Building Materials industry preferred.
• MSHA compliance and regulations; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Start, monitor, and regulate crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, and pumps in compliance with safety standards.
• Adjust process settings to ensure optimal material flow and quality per specifications.
• Operate mobile equipment such as skid steers and front-end loaders during loadout or clean-up tasks.
• Conduct pre-shift and ongoing inspections; document daily reports accurately.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks like greasing, cleaning, belt changes, and bearing or pulley replacements.
• Identify malfunctions or blockages; safely shut down equipment during emergencies and initiate repairs.
• Maintain a tidy work area; control spills, dust, and debris around equipment and haul roads.
• Adhere to MSHA and company safety policies; use PPE properly.
• Communicate with supervisors and teammates to ensure efficient workflow and safety.
• Assist in training new or temporary staff on equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Take on additional duties—cleaning, quality control, rail loading as assigned by management.
• Maintain daily production reports and inventory records.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for batch plant operations and dust control.
