Job summary

Koch Fertilizer in Wever, IA is seeking a Plant Operator to join our Ammonia, UREA, UAN, Nitric Acid & Utilities Operations teams. The Operator will monitor and control plant units, safely startup, operate, and shutdown equipment, and help maintain product quality.

This is a safety‑driven, outdoor role with 12‑hour shifts on a 4‑5‑5 rotation (days or nights) and potential for overtime. You’ll work with maintenance, labs and engineers to keep the facility running reliably and efficiently.

Qualifications

• High physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks outdoors.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Comfort with climbing ladders and working in PPE.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant units to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Lab, and service departments for smooth operation.
• Uphold safety and environmental policies to ensure safe, compliant work.
• Review and update operating manuals and SOPs; adjust processes as needed.
• Pursue continuous learning across process units and board operations.
