ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of the Dundas site team, Plant Operator Assistants will perform daily operations and maintenance of plant equipment following Lafarge’s Best Practices and Policies, including administrative tasks related to equipment operation. The role operates on a 1-week rotational schedule (Days, Nights, Afternoons).

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Promote a positive safety culture through leadership and example.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, aligning with the company’s vision and success factors.
• Operate and maintain equipment per manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Equipment on site includes crushers, conveyors, rock trucks, front end loaders, bulldozers, graders, and drills.
• Conduct daily inspections as part of preventative maintenance to ensure scheduled maintenance is completed.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support plant and site operations.
• Manual labor is required.
• Commit to health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a safety culture.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in industrial plant operations is an asset.
• Heavy equipment operation experience is an asset.

Additional Requirements:

• Specific mobile equipment training.
• Modules Surface Miner training.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Computer literacy is an asset.
• Adherence to safety protocols and proper PPE use is mandatory.
