Job summary

Penn Medicine's Department of the Physical Plant seeks a Full-Time Plant Operator Apprentice to maintain, install and repair commercial HVAC systems and boiler equipment under supervision. You will test and perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical control circuits, and assist other trades as needed.

Qualified candidates have a HS diploma/GED and completed a four-year Local 835 IOE apprenticeship; Engineer’s (A) and CFC licenses by program end are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Four-year participation in Local 835 IOE apprenticeship program required.
• Engineer’s (A) License and a CFC license by end of Apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and related equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot plumbing and cooling systems, pumps, motors, and BAS controls.
• Work with blueprints and schematic designs to perform maintenance tasks.
• Assist other craftspeople as assigned.
