Job summary

Calpine, America's largest generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources, is seeking a Plant Operator to assist in running plant equipment, start and stop pumps, and monitor motors, fans and compressors. You will collect operational data, inspect equipment, and perform routine maintenance in a safe, efficient manner.

The role includes troubleshooting electrical and control systems, calibrating instrumentation, and assisting in turbine/generator synchronization and switchyard

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Zero to four years of related experience.
• Experience with test equipment and calibration appliances is preferred; machinery repair and control systems experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment, start/stop pumps and auxiliaries.
• Take and record plant data; inspect equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnose issues.
• Calibrate and maintain electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
• Assist in turbine/generator synchronization and switchyard operations.
