Job summary

Casa Healthcare is seeking a Plant Operations Technician to support six skilled nursing and two assisted living facilities in Lake County Indiana. The role focuses on maintaining safety, functionality, and aesthetics through hands-on mechanical and electrical work.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in plant management, with experience in long-term care settings, and can read schematics, operate tools, and coordinate with facility staff. This is a field-based role with travel to Casa facilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for performance and safety.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems including HVAC & ventilation.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Install and upgrade equipment and systems.
• Inspect facilities to identify potential problems and recommend repairs or replacements.
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
• Test and maintain safety systems (fire alarms, extinguishers).
• Assist with capital improvement projects.
• Respond to emergencies promptly.

Position Overview

Casa Healthcare is seeking an experienced Plant Operations Technician to join our team to support six skilled nursing and two assisted living facilities in Lake County Indiana. This position is integral to ensuring our facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in long-term care environments and demonstrate a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as routine equipment utilized in the skilled nursing setting.

Responsibilities

Work in conjunction with the facility-based maintenance personnel to ensure the following

• Monitor the performance and safety of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in the facilities.




• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, including air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration units.




• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems.




• Install and upgrade equipment and systems.




• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of the facility systems and equipment to identify potential problems.




• Make recommendations for repairs or replacement of systems.




• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs and upgrades.




• Test, install and maintain safety systems, such as fire alarms and extinguishers.




• Assist with assigned capital improvement projects.




• Respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience




• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant management, with at least 3 years in a long-term care setting.

Working Conditions

• This position is field based with travel to various Casa facilities as needed.




• Ability to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the role.
