Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Supply Chain & Operations Intern for a twelve-week summer program across manufacturing plants nationwide, including San Antonio, TX and Lubbock, TX. You'll gain hands-on experience in production supervision, materials planning, procurement, logistics, and Lean/Continuous Improvement.

You will learn the JCI Business System, support plants to meet KPIs, and participate in Lean initiatives while developing business acumen and professional skills.

Qualifications

• Relevant internship, extracurricular, or project experience
• Comfortable relocating to one of our manufacturing plant locations
• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or similar
• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at a U.S. college or university, with a scheduled graduation date between December 2027 and June 2030
• Must have access to personal transportation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
• Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities
• Robust communication skills, both written and verbal
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident as we’re unable to sponsor visas for these roles

Responsibilities

• Participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives and projects
• Learn the JCI Business System and support plants to meet and exceed KPIs
• Oversee daily production support, ensuring smooth operations through capacity management, scheduling analysis, and optimizing cycle times
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Maintain and improve reports to ensure manufacturing floor enabling operational efficiency.
• Implement measures to minimize waste
