Job summary

Covia is seeking a Plant Supervisor for the Troy Grove, IL site. You will report to the Operations Plant Manager and directly supervise production and shipping activities to maximize output at the lowest cost while ensuring safety and quality.

In this role you will lead maintenance planning, spare parts management, equipment condition monitoring, and coordination with the maintenance team to keep the plant running reliably. A focus on safety and teamwork is essential for success.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years' maintenance supervisor experience is required.
• The ideal candidate will be a leader with prior experience supervising in an industrial or mineral processing environment.
• Exhibit team focus and the ability to achieve results through others.
• Preference given to candidates with Ball Mill, air classifying or Maintenance experience.
• Preference given to candidates that have a bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or technical field.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise production activities including receiving Raw Materials, material flow, air classifying, ball mill operations, sampling, storage, maintenance, QC.
• Directly supervise maintenance activities including maintenance planning, spare parts management, purchasing, equipment condition monitoring, replacement/servicing, and work order management.
• Ensure a safe work environment per Covia SLAM risk protocol and lead regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Advise Plant Manager of potential problems affecting safe and efficient production.
• Oversee related tasks to maintain output at low cost while meeting safety and quality standards.
