Job summary

Covia is seeking a dynamic 2nd Shift Production Supervisor for its Oregon, IL location. The role oversees hourly employees and directs daily production and shipping to meet quality, safety, and health standards. Reports to the Plant Superintendent and commits to Covia’s safety-first culture.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 2–5 years of related supervisory experience. Bachelor’s preferred; Lean manufacturing and 5S experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-5 years of related operations supervisory experience required.
• Experience in lean manufacturing and 5S is a plus.
• Familiarity with computer systems especially Microsoft Office Programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is the top priority and follow safety practices and MSHA regulations.
• Supervise production processes including quarrying, dewatering, drying, screening and loading.
• Develop a production schedule and assign work before the shift starts.
• Ensure production equipment is operational and properly maintained; report repairs.
• Troubleshoot operating problems and write work orders for maintenance.
• Maintain production rates, inventory levels, and on-time shipments; monitor parameters.
