Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company in Georgia seeks a Plant Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the aggregate plant, ensuring efficient production and compliance with environmental and safety regulations. This role supports the Plant Manager in mine development through stripping and reclamation to optimize utilization at the lowest cost.

The supervisor ensures a safe working environment, enforces safety policies, and coordinates with SHE and management to meet site needs and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in land stripping and reclamation activities.
• 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Construction materials industry experience preferred.
• High school diploma required; BS/BA or associates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises hourly employees performing land stripping and reclamation.
• Plan and prioritize department objectives to meet production goals.
• Maintain scheduling and manage budgets for the department.
• Recruit and screen hourly employees as needed.
• Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly activities for material processing operations.
• Coach and counsel employees; ensure proper training.
• Assign work based on production needs and manpower.
• Collaborate with SHE department to ensure safety compliance.
• Work with plant management on mine development and reclamation needs.
• Implement cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in operations short and long-range planning.
• Assist in department inspections and plant equipment maintenance.
