Job summary

Heritage FS in Goodland, IN is seeking a Plant Operations Assistant to support daily plant activities and yard duties. You will help maintain a clean, safe environment, assist with equipment upkeep, and support operations staff as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of related maintenance or general labor experience, with the ability to operate basic equipment such as lawn mowers and forklifts. A team-oriented mindset and safety focus are essential.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine plant maintenance and assists with repairs on facility equipment and structures to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely move, load, unload, and organize materials within the plant and yard.
• Maintains the facility grounds including mowing, snow removal, sweeping, and general yard upkeep to keep the plant clean and organized.
• Assists with moving equipment, materials, and supplies within the plant using appropriate equipment and safe work practices.
• Performs general labor tasks including cleaning equipment, warehouses, and work areas to maintain operational standards.
• Supports operations staff with loading, unloading, and staging materials as needed.
• Conducts basic inspections of equipment and reports maintenance issues or safety concerns to the Location Manager.
• Follows all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
