Job summary

Software Placement Group in New Milford, CT is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day plant operations, including production, quality, purchasing, maintenance, logistics, and supply chain. This role requires strategic leadership to meet production, quality, delivery, safety, and cost objectives.

You will develop schedules, manage budgets, drive continuous improvement, and mentor a high-performing team while ensuring OSHA and environmental compliance across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing/operations-related field.
• 10+ years in manufacturing with progressive responsibilities.
• 5+ years in operations or supply chain management in a leadership role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with data-driven approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with senior stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Epicor).

Responsibilities

• Lead plant operations across production, quality, purchasing, maintenance, logistics and supply chain.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to boost productivity, safety, quality, delivery and cost efficiency.
• Monitor KPIs like throughput, yield, downtime and on-time delivery; drive improvements.
• Manage schedules, staffing, and resources to meet demand.
• Develop and execute production schedules optimizing labor and equipment use.
• Promote safety culture and ensure OSHA and environmental compliance.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and other teams to enable continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage operating budgets and capital expenditures.
• Recruit and mentor an high-performing operations team.
• Contribute to strategic planning for capacity and process improvements.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and coordinate with supply chain for procurement.
• Lead audits and ensure ISO and FDA requirements where relevant.
• Direct operations leadership, staffing, training, and performance management.
• Perform other duties as required.
