Job summary

Calpine, a leading energy company, is seeking to manage daily plant operations and production activities. You will supervise operators, direct dispatch and water balance, and oversee the plant chemistry program. The role ensures safety, environmental compliance, and timely regulatory reporting.

You will develop safety programs, oversee trainings, and manage staffing decisions while maintaining performance and cost controls within a large, modern fleet.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in power plant operations, preferably heavy frame turbines.
• Previous leadership or senior-contributor experience.
• Strong computing skills with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
• Valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations and production activities; supervise plant operators.
• Direct economic dispatch instructions and maintain water balance; supervise the plant chemistry program.
• Ensure safety, environmental compliance, and permit requirements.
• Develop and oversee plant safety programs and training certifications.
• Ensure timely, accurate compliance reports.
• Lead recruitment, staffing decisions, and staff development.
