Job summary

UFP Industries in Indiana is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee overall plant operations, drive cost, quality, and productivity, and align with strategic objectives under direction of the RDO or DO. You will lead production management, staffing, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives, while ensuring OSHA compliance, safe yard layout, and accurate data entry for reporting and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of work experience as a production manager or equivalent.
• Forklift operator certification is required.
• Working knowledge of shipping truck capacities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Preferred experience and knowledge of UFP’s organization, culture, and product lines.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that all plant assets are properly managed and safeguarded.
• Staffs, develops, and coaches the production management team, evaluates performance, and initiates corrective action as required.
• Develops and/or approves master production and shipping schedules and coordinates activities between shifts.
• Assists in developing capital expenditure recommendations.
• Establishes quality standards for operations and manages quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitors plant output, scrap, and yields to optimize resource use and initiates corrective action.
• Ensures plant data is entered into the system and supports month-end inventories.
• Coordinates inventory requirements with management and maintains proper material flow.
• Ensures OSHA policies are followed and participates in the plant Safety Committee.
• Prepares various reports and performs other duties as required.
