Job summary

The Garland Company, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead plant operations, ensuring production on time, within budget, and with quality. You will supervise staff, schedule work, enforce safety standards, and coordinate with the union to maintain smooth operations.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience, read specifications and schematics, and can travel as required. The role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• In lieu of a degree, education/certification/experience may be considered.
• Read specifications, schematics and manuals.
• Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Present information effectively to employees.
• Perform basic arithmetic and unit conversions.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations with protective gear.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, good communication.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Overtime and flexible schedule required.
• Experience operating dolly, shrink-wrap, pallet jack, forklift.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Travel domestically; valid license and vehicle; possible air travel.

Responsibilities

• Manages manufacturing staff by communicating expectations and coaching.
• Schedules and assigns personnel; prioritizes work and monitors progress.
• Maintains quality by enforcing standards.
• Ensures health and safety procedures are followed.
• Analyzes production and quality control to correct problems.
• Maintains safe, clean work environment; trains staff on equipment use.
• Maintains union relations per collective bargaining agreement.
• Keeps current with best practices via workshops and publications.
• Contributes to team effort with related tasks as needed.
• Flexible to work off-shifts and weekends.
