Job summary

O&K American Corp. in Chicago, IL seeks a Plant Maintenance Leader to drive 5S, safety, quality, productivity and facility management. You will lead direct and indirect maintenance staff, coordinate maintenance strategies, and ensure reliable plant operations.

Responsibilities include budgeting, planning, preventive/predictive maintenance, and regulatory compliance across the facility, with a focus on continuous improvement and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Management required.
• Several years of manufacturing management experience, preferably wire manufacturing.
• Strong managerial and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all manufacturing equipment and property management.
• Direct and lead the plant and equipment strategic organization for success.
• Minimize unplanned downtime through continuous monitoring of plant operations.
• Implement and manage the plant maintenance program (planning/scheduling; preventive/predictive).
• Monitor budgets, labor efficiency, material usage, engineering, safety and environmental standards.
• Manage staff directly responsible for maintenance.
• Ensure safety standards and procedures are followed.
• Complete performance reviews for maintenance staff.
• Approve purchase orders and invoices for accounting.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance program.
• Maintain tracking of work orders, spare parts and maintenance history.
• Lead plant improvements, shutdowns, and expansions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for facilities, operations and logistics.
