Job summary

Inspired Living at Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton, FL is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for a full-time position. The role covers general maintenance, service, and repair of interior and exterior areas in line with all applicable standards and policies.

Responsibilities include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry tasks, and responding to resident repair requests. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma and 1–3 years of related experience, with strong communication skills and a safety-minded approach.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of building equipment, building codes, HVAC, plumbing, electrical in healthcare facilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to communicate verbally in person and over the phone.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generator, landscape, kitchen equipment, and emergency pull cord equipment.
  • Performs general maintenance projects including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair.
  • Responds to maintenance requests by residents for items needing repair in their rooms, including plumbing, electrical, heating, and replacing light bulbs.
  • Repairs and maintains vacated rooms, including painting walls and cleaning carpets.
  • Ensures walls, floors, doors, and woodwork in common areas are properly maintained.
  • Communicates with local inspectors and authorities; documents safety issues and SDS when needed.
  • Assesses property damage and reports claims per company policy.
  • Responds to management/community emergencies as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on, but not limited to: HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generator, landscape, kitchen equipment, and emergency pull cord equipment.
  • Performs general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing and electrical equipment, carpentry work, painting, and equipment repair.
  • Responds to maintenance requests by residents for items needing repair in their rooms, including repairing plumbing, electrical, heating, and replacing light bulbs.
  • Repairs and maintains vacated rooms in a timely manner. This includes painting walls and cleaning carpets.
  • Ensures that walls, floor coverings, doors, and woodwork in the common areas of the community are properly maintained.
  • Maintains positive communication with local fire marshal, building inspector, state elevator inspector, and any other jurisdictions governing the community.
  • Repairs walls, floor coverings, doors, and wood work in the common areas of the community.
  • Assesses all plumbing and electrical problems within the community and determines the best course of action to correct the problem.
  • Works within the legal scope of local and state codes. Documents safety issues as well as physical plan deficiencies related to local, county, state and federal guidelines. Reviews safety data sheets (SDS) as requested for potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and takes necessary precautions.
  • Assesses property damage and file property damage claims in accordance with company policy.
  • Responds appropriately to management and/or community emergencies by assisting as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills And Experience
