Job summary

Murano in Seattle is hiring a Senior Living Maintenance Assistant to support residents by maintaining the community and ensuring safety and comfort. You will perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and renovations across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry while upholding high standards of care for seniors.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, floor care and HVAC.
• Prefer knowledge of fire suppression and irrigation systems.
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing and electrical equipment, fire and sprinkler equipment, HVAC, landscape, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair.
• Ensure walls, floor coverings, doors, windows, furniture, and woodwork in common areas are properly maintained and repaired.
• Repair and maintain vacated rooms promptly, including painting walls and cleaning carpets.
• Responsible for all in-house plumbing, e.g., sinks, toilets and bathtubs.
• Responsible for minor electrical work within units and in common areas, e.g., switches and outlets.
• Paint apartments and common areas.
• Complete all work orders in a timely manner and document safety issues.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and safety procedures.

Our Maintenance Assistants are responsible for:

• Perform general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing and electrical equipment, fire and sprinkler equipment, H.V.A.C., landscape, carpentry work, painting, and equipment repair.
• Must understand and have knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
• Ensure that walls, floor coverings, doors, windows, furniture, woodwork in the common areas of the community are properly maintained and repaired.
• Must have basic prep and painting abilities
• Repair and maintain vacated rooms in a timely manner which includes painting walls and cleaning carpets.
• Responsible for all in-house plumbing, e.g. sinks, toilets and bathtubs.
• Responsible for minor electrical work within units and in common areas, e.g. light switches, wall outlets, garbage disposals, etc.
• Responsible for painting of all apartments and common areas.
• Repair, clean and maintain all carpet, floor coverings and furniture.
• Responsible for completing all work orders in a timely manner – noting any other work completed at the location but not listed on work order.
• Document safety issues as well as physical plan deficiencies related to local, county, state and federal guidelines.
• Assist MS in preventative maintenance and cleaning of the community vehicles (busses and cars, vans).
• Assist with training and development of safety procedures and hazard communications.
• Responsible for any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Regional Maintenance Supervisor or General Manager.
• Responds immediately and appropriately to all accidents and emergencies, based on established protocol.
• Other duties as assigned.

If you are someone with:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. (Must be at least 18 years of age.)
• 1-3 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, floor care, heating and HVAC skills.
• Prefer knowledge of fire suppression & irrigation systems.
• Prefer motor vehicle maintenance ability.
• Flexible and must be able to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

Actual pay rate within stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire.
