Job description

Taylor Coil Processing is a privately owned Steel Service Center specializing in high-quality flat rolled steel products and processing for customers across North America. Operating out of six facilities in the United States and Canada, Taylor Steel runs eighteen modern processing lines with a throughput exceeding two million tons annually. Role Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the steel service center in Lordstown, OH. In this full‑time, on‑site role, the Plant Manager will oversee production processes, manage staff, coordinate production schedules, and ensure efficient and safe manufacturing practices. Key responsibilities include leading operations to meet production goals, maintaining compliance with company standards, handling operational planning, and facilitating communication across teams to promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the head of US operations.

Qualifications
  • A safety minded manager, always looking to raise the safety “bar”.
  • Proven expertise in Plant Management and Plant Operations, including directing and optimizing manufacturing environments.
  • Strong background in Operations Management, with the ability to improve operational efficiency and achieve production goals effectively.
  • Experience in Production Planning and Manufacturing Operations to ensure coordination of schedules and high-quality output.
  • Must have a strong understanding of lean principles, particularly with 5S methodology.
  • Exceptional leadership and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to mentor teams and maintain a safe, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards, and best practices in manufacturing settings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience managing a manufacturing or production facility is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to adapt to dynamic production demands.
