Job summary

JMJ PHILLIP is seeking a Plant Manager to lead all aspects of manufacturing operations in Taylor, TX, driving safe, efficient, and high‑quality production while delivering operational excellence and continuous improvement.

You will develop and mentor supervisors and managers, manage budgets and metrics, promote Lean manufacturing, and collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to meet business goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience leading manufacturing or industrial operations in a plant management role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, quality systems, and operational best practices.
  • Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and key operational metrics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee daily manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that improve productivity, efficiency, and overall plant performance.
  • Monitor production schedules, equipment utilization, and workflow to maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop supervisors, managers, and plant personnel.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee growth and development.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all workplace safety regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee environmental, health, and quality compliance initiatives.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Manage plant budgets, operating expenses, and overall financial performance.
  • Analyze operational metrics to identify opportunities for cost reduction and increased profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular performance reports to leadership.
  • Ensure products consistently meet customer expectations and quality standards.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Drive operational excellence through process optimization and data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to support business objectives.
  • Resolve operational challenges while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Support production planning, inventory management, and supply chain coordination.

Position Responsibilities
Plant Operations
  • Direct and oversee daily manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, and delivery objectives.

Prerequisites
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience leading manufacturing or industrial operations in a plant management role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, quality systems, and operational best practices.
  • Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and key operational metrics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)

  • OSHA Safety Certification
