Job summary

Sunward Steel Buildings is seeking a Plant Manager to lead the Walterboro, SC manufacturing facility. You will ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost outcomes while building a skilled team and driving continuous improvement on the shop floor and in management discussions.

You will own the plant budget, oversee production scheduling, maintenance, and inventory, and collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Sales to meet customer commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of progressive leadership in heavy manufacturing or related environment.
• 5+ years managing supervisors or a multi-department operation.
• Accountability for an operating budget or plant-level cost results.

Responsibilities

• Own the plant safety program, OSHA compliance, incident investigation, and corrective action.
• Lead daily production of framing and components to meet schedule, quality, and cost targets.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Drafting, Sales Order Processing, and Customer Success to load the plant and schedule shipments.
• Own quality outcomes with the Quality team, including NCR/CAPA and IAS AC472 compliance.
• Direct maintenance strategy and capital equipment planning with the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Manage Inventory, procurement, and supply chain to maintain availability and reduce scrap.
• Build and manage the plant operating budget; track labor, overtime, and cost per ton; justify capital investments.
• Set KPI scorecard and report results to senior leadership; drive continuous improvement using lean tools.
