Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc. in Walterboro, SC is seeking a Plant Manager to lead the local manufacturing facility. You will oversee safety, quality, productivity, and cost, while building a skilled workforce and a culture of continuous improvement.

This on-site role requires hands-on leadership with shop floor teams and senior leadership collaboration. You will drive daily production across framing and components, coordinate with engineering and purchasing, manage the budget, and implement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of progressive leadership in heavy manufacturing, metal fabrication, or related industrial environment.
• 5+ years managing supervisors or a multi-department operation.
• Experience with ERP systems and cost reporting; proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own the plant's safety program and OSHA compliance, driving a culture of zero incidents.
• Lead daily production across framing, components, and fabrication to meet schedule, quality, and cost targets.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Sales Order Processing, and Customer Success to load, sequence, and ship orders.
• Own quality outcomes with the Quality team, including NCR and CAPA processes and IAS AC472 requirements.
• Direct maintenance strategy, preventive maintenance, uptime, parts planning, and capital equipment planning.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Inventory to maintain stock accuracy and reduce scrap and variances.
• Build and manage the plant operating budget; track productivity, overtime, and cost per ton; justify capital investments.
• Set KPI scorecard and report results to senior leadership; recruit, develop, and coach supervisors.
