Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands seeks a Plant Manager II to oversee multiple manufacturing sites, driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. You will lead cross-functional strategies, manage lean initiatives, and balance long-term vision with day-to-day actions.

Strong communication and change-management skills are essential for success. You will work under the Director of Operations to build trust, develop teams, and implement manufacturing excellence programs while prioritizing safety

Qualifications

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in engineering or business; alternatively, 10–12 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing (packaging, process engineering, warehousing, and assembly).
• Minimum of 3 years in a people management role.
• Proven track record of applying lean tools and processes for sustained improvement (5S, 5Y, Fishbone, PDCA, Kaizen).
• Experience leading teams through formal management systems (Oracle, MES software, CPS pillars).
• Experience participating on cross-functional teams, driving decision-making, and overseeing operational and financial metrics.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing supply chain functions (planning, logistics, quality, materials management, inventory control).
• Requires minimal travel (10%).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD and statistical packages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations leadership including safety, inclusion, and cost management.
• Develop site strategies for COGS while managing growth and expansion.
• Drive year-to-year cost savings by optimizing direct labor and overhead.
• Oversee new products or pilot projects implementation.
• Create schedules balancing production, delivery, and worker well-being.
• Ensure QA Index and Right First Time standards; drive TQM.
• Reinforce manufacturing excellence roadmap and lean thinking.
• Coach leadership and technical teams; forecast labor demand and mix.
