Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring for an Area Lead to ensure safe, efficient production on the lines. You will lead start-up scheduling, monitor line performance, onboard new hires, and maintain production boards while prioritizing remakes and addressing line issues to meet MPO goals.

The role requires proactive leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work across shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Good organization, and time management skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, people-oriented environment.
• Ability to understand technical concepts.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Have good PC skills.
• Quality Insurance background desired.
• Basic understanding of 5 Why process to troubleshoot, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives and ensure PPE adherence.
• Prepare and manage lines start-up schedules.
• Monitor line schedules and ensure timely presence of leads.
• Conduct meetings with line leads to review areas for improvement.
• Oversee onboarding of new hires and their initial training.
• Maintain and update production boards; track HBH numbers.
• Prioritize remakes on the lines to meet production goals.
• Monitor fall outs and ensure carts are complete with correct labeling.
• Be proactive during downtime; keep lines busy with productive tasks.
• Assist in achieving MPO goals by addressing performance gaps and problem-solving on the lines.
