Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a seasoned operations leader to develop, manage, and optimize profitable construction materials operations across mining, processing, stockpiling, loading and distribution.

You will oversee budgets, safety, equipment maintenance, and supplier relations, while mentoring plant staff to attract top talent and ensure timely project delivery in a high-production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mining/Mechanical/Civil) or Construction Management.
• 5+ years in a construction materials environment.
• 2+ years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise plant workers across aggregates and related materials to maximize profitability.
• Estimate material costs from plan specs to support quotes.
• Set manpower, inventory, equipment, and schedules for optimal plant operation.
• Develop and manage P&L budgets for material operations.
• Lead weekly safety meetings to uphold safety standards.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of plant equipment per standards.
• Coordinate with departments to meet project timelines.
• Mentor and train plant staff to attract and retain top talent.
