Job summary

JMJ PHILLIP seeks a Plant Manager to oversee all manufacturing operations in Tulsa, driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You will lead large teams, optimize production planning, manage budgets, and partner with quality to meet customer specifications.

The role emphasizes Lean Six Sigma, OSHA compliance, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering operational excellence within a growing organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Several years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience leading large teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure safe, cost-effective production.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve production goals.
  • Monitor performance and implement improvements to maximize efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and plant personnel.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate production schedules to meet demand and delivery.
  • Ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Drive quality to meet customer specifications and resolve issues.
  • Manage plant budgets, KPIs, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, quality and leadership.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Plant Manager to oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations while driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will provide strong leadership, optimize operational performance, develop high-performing teams, and ensure the facility consistently meets production and business objectives.

Position Responsibilities
Operations Management
  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective production.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve production goals.
  • Monitor plant performance and implement improvements to maximize efficiency.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and plant personnel.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee engagement, training, and professional development initiatives.
Production Planning
  • Coordinate production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery expectations.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Lead safety initiatives and continuous risk reduction efforts.
Quality Management
  • Ensure products consistently meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Partner with quality teams to resolve production issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions when needed.
Financial & Operational Performance
  • Develop and manage plant budgets and operating expenses.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to improve productivity and profitability.
  • Support cost reduction and operational excellence initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and overall plant performance.
  • Encourage innovation and best practices across all departments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, quality, and leadership teams.
  • Support new product launches, capital projects, and operational improvements.
  • Communicate plant performance and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.
Prerequisites
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Several years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including plant or operations management.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and operational management.
  • Experience leading large teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and operational performance.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Certified Manufacturing Manager (CMM) or similar leadership certification.
