Silgan Containers seeks an experienced Plant Manager in Saint Joseph, Missouri to lead all manufacturing, quality, maintenance, materials, HR and finance functions. The role focuses on achieving SQDCP goals with strong safety, cost, and delivery discipline while promoting a zero-incident culture.

You will drive manufacturing strategies, budget controls, and continuous improvement, partnering across functions to meet customer specifications and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience required; bachelor's preferred.
• Minimum of ten years progressive operations experience in manufacturing.
• Strong business acumen and ability to manage P&L performance.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with union contract administration and labor relations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant operations across production, maintenance, quality, materials, and HR.
• Promote a zero-incident safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Establish and manage budgets, cost controls, and continuous improvement programs.
• Drive a results-oriented culture by defining goals and building high-performing teams.
• Partner with Quality and Procurement to ensure production and purchased materials meet specs.

This position reports to the Director of Operations and provides leadership to all plant departments, including Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Materials, Human Resources, and Finance.The Plant Manageris responsible fordirecting and coordinating all manufacturing, financial, and operational functions to achieve plant goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP).
