Job summary

Silgan Containers Manufacturing Corporation is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at our St. Joseph, Missouri facility. You will direct manufacturing, finance, and operational functions to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost and people targets.

This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and a commitment to operational excellence, with oversight of Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Materials, HR, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years progressive operations experience in manufacturing.
• Strong business acumen and ability to manage P&L.
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with union contract administration and labor relations.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all plant operations across production, maintenance, quality, materials, and HR to meet SQDCP goals.
• Promote a zero-incident safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Establish and manage budgets, cost controls and continuous improvement programs.
• Drive a results-oriented culture by defining goals and monitoring performance.
• Partner with Quality and Procurement to meet customer specifications.
• Build collaboration and teamwork through open communication and effective leadership.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and product quality systems.
• Perform additional duties and projects assigned by Operations leadership.
