Job summary

Capstone Search Advisors is partnering with a well-established beef processing operation to identify an experienced Plant Manager to lead their beef processing facility. This role demands a hands-on operations leader with deep knowledge of cattle processing, slaughter operations, and USDA-inspected meat production.

The Plant Manager will drive safe, efficient, high-performing plant operations while leading teams, improving processes, and supporting continued company growth.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership in beef processing or meatpacking.
  • Experience in USDA-inspected facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of USDA-FSIS regulations and HACCP.
  • Experience leading large production teams in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for daily beef processing operations.
  • Manage safety, production, quality, labor, maintenance, and efficiency.
  • Oversee cattle receiving, slaughter/harvest, carcass processing, fabrication, packaging, and shipping.
  • Ensure production goals meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor throughput, yields, labor efficiency, downtime, costs, and waste reduction.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and productivity.

Job description

Capstone Search Advisors is partnering with a well-established and growing food processing operation to identify an experienced Plant Manager to lead their beef processing facility.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on operations leader with a strong background in cattle processing, slaughter operations, and USDA-inspected meat production.

The Plant Manager will have full responsibility for driving safe, efficient, and high-performing plant operations while leading teams, improving processes, and supporting continued company growth.

The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience within a beef processing or meatpacking environment and have a deep understanding of harvest operations, animal welfare, food safety, production management, and workforce development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for daily beef processing operations
  • Manage all aspects of plant performance, including safety, production, quality, labor, maintenance, and efficiency
  • Oversee cattle receiving, live animal handling, slaughter/harvest operations, carcass processing, fabrication, packaging, and shipping
  • Ensure production goals are achieved while maintaining the highest standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor operational metrics including throughput, yields, labor efficiency, downtime, production costs, and waste reduction
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase productivity, and optimize plant performance
Slaughter & Beef Processing Operations
  • Lead daily harvest operations while ensuring humane animal handling practices and operational consistency
  • Oversee kill floor activities, including stunning, bleeding, hide removal, evisceration, carcass inspection, trimming, chilling, and related processes
  • Partner with production leadership to improve line efficiency, product yields, and overall workflow
  • Ensure proper handling of cattle from recediving through finished product shipment
  • Address production challenges quickly while maintaining quality and safety standards
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience within a beef processing, slaughter, meatpacking, or USDA-inspected food manufacturing facility
  • Previous experience managing plant operations within the meat industry required
  • Experience leading large production teams in a fast-paced processing environment
  • Strong understanding of USDA-FSIS regulations, HACCP, SSOP, and food safety programs
  • Proven ability to improve operational performance, production efficiency, and employee engagement
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience improving yields, reducing costs, and optimizing production processes
