Salary: $115,000-$135,000 + Bonus

Key Responsibilities

The Plant Manager oversees all operations, including lumber supply, production, and delivery. Responsibilities include leading the operational team, ensuring efficient production of quality products, and maintaining the security and functionality of all assets at the facility.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operations & Production Oversight: Manage facility operations, including production, shipping/receiving, maintenance, and inventory control. Optimize throughput, control costs, reduce waste, and ensure maintenance efficiency. Maintain ERP system integrity and manage assets effectively. Ensure equipment and facilities are in good condition by coordinating with suppliers and maintenance services.
  • Safety & Compliance: Foster a safety-first culture, ensure compliance with regulations, promote best practices, and act as the company’s representative for regulatory matters.
  • Financial & Strategic Management: Oversee profit and loss, manage budgets, and implement strategic planning, including business, marketing, and capital planning. Develop pricing strategies aligned with market conditions.
  • Sales & Customer Relations: Support sales efforts, collaborate with the sales team to meet targets, identify key market segments, and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Supervise staffing, training, and professional growth initiatives. Promote a high-performance, respectful, and accountable culture. Lead by example.
  • Continuous Improvement & Performance Metrics: Apply lean manufacturing principles, develop and monitor KPIs, create daily production schedules, and ensure proper employee training.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Contribute to growth strategies, assist in hiring, conduct performance evaluations, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical or business field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in production or manufacturing, preferably in lumber remanufacturing or woodworking.
  • Knowledge of lean six sigma and change management.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making ability.
  • Organized, energetic, capable of managing multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and integrity in commitments.
  • Familiar with ERP, scheduling, inventory, and shipping systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment & Attributes

  • Indoor and outdoor manufacturing environment with safety gear required.
  • Initial travel for training and customer visits expected.
