Position Summary & Objective
The Plant Manager will direct manufacturing operations through a team of functional supervisors and group leaders. Responsible for the P&L, management, and leadership of all plant operations to ensure a safe work environment, production goals & efficiencies, high-quality products, and increasing levels of customer and team member satisfaction.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
- Lead the Environmental, Health & Safety efforts to ensure complete adherence to legal, regulatory, and company policies. Lead plant EHS continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement lean programs throughout the manufacturing site to improve safety, quality, schedule attainment, efficiencies, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and eliminate waste using lean tools across all manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement a TPM program to support manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and team member involvement aligned with the company's Core Values and Leadership Traits.
- Provide leadership for team member relations through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.
- Use root cause analysis, countermeasures, and verification techniques for problem-solving leadership.
- Execute daily/weekly/monthly production plans to support on-time delivery and financial metrics.
- Develop KPIs for all departments within the production environment.
- Manage processes that support metrics for continuous improvement.
- Develop capital budgets with financial justifications and lead implementation of approved projects.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategic and operational plans.
- Develop and implement maintenance and facilities operating plans.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience in job shop metal machining and assembly operations.
- Strong machining knowledge with CNC and manual boring mills, vertical and horizontal lathes.
- Experience with rebuilding large machinery.
- Knowledge of Operational Excellence and lean tools in manufacturing.
- Analytical, critical thinking, and mechanical aptitude.
- Proven problem-solving skills with root cause analysis and effectiveness verification.
- Excellent project and program management skills.
- Experience in implementing manufacturing strategies.
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Strong task responsibility, dependability, and sense of urgency.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and interpret data effectively.
- Ability to act in accordance with policies and procedures, managing in crisis situations.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of management experience in heavy manufacturing.
- Familiarity with MRO business.
