Greif, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Plant Manager to lead manufacturing engineering, production operations, maintenance, planning, quality, and EHS for a single fiber drums facility. You will oversee multiple departments and drive short- to mid-term execution of operational strategy.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant leadership experience in a manufacturing setting. You will manage budgets, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven leadership of a manufacturing facility with safety, quality, productivity, and cost management responsibilities.
• Strong background in managing plant financial performance, budgets, and capital projects.
• Experience leading operations in a unionized environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Continuously improves the plant's performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques and processes.
• Implements production plans, tracks KPI, responds to delays, and takes corrective actions.
• Creates and implements improvement plans for overall operation.
• Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities and promotes safety.
• Encourages problem solving and staff development.
• Supports Greif mission and values; contributes to overall business.
• Maintains safety observances, ensures guards and safety features work.
• Communicates goals, applies policy, staffs, trains, coaches, and reviews performance.
• Forecasts future production and facility needs; participates in strategic goals.
• Contributes in annual budget preparation.
• Controls expenditures per budget.
• Maintains contact with other departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Summary

Leads and manages teams responsible for manufacturing engineering, production operations, maintenance, production planning and control, quality, and environmental health and safety (EHS) within a single Fiber Drums facility. Oversees multiple departments and their associated teams. Responsibilities typically include ownership of short to mid-term execution of functional strategy and operational management. Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 10 or more years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously improves the plant's performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques and processes.
• Effectively implements new performance management systems, production plans and performance criteria; confirms production progress; responds to delays; takes corrective actions; records KPI performance.
• Creates and implements improvement plans for the overall operation.
• Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities as it relates to the team and Greif.
• Encourages joint problem solving and individual development.
• Supports Greif mission, follows values of Greif and works to better Greif’s business as a whole.
• Manages and maintains safety observances, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
• Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, administers discipline, insures positive colleague relations and reviews the performance of colleagues.
• Forecasts future production and facility needs and participates in the establishment of strategic business and project goals.
• Contributes in annual budget preparation.
• Controls expenditures in accordance with budget.
• Maintain close connection and contact with other departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 10 or more years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience leading a manufacturing facility with full responsibility for safety, quality, productivity, cost management, and employee development.
• Strong background in managing plant financial performance, including budgets, capital projects, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Experience leading operations in a unionized manufacturing environment is a plus (but not required).

Compensation Range: The pay range for this position is $108,400.00 - $184,600.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between130,000.00 to145,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
