Job summary

The Sanitation District No. 1 in Petersburg, KY is seeking a Full-Time Plant Maintenance Technician.

You will work independently to keep the DC Plant operating efficiently by maintaining equipment and processes, with overtime as needed to ensure continuous operation. Responsibilities include completing work orders, performing preventative maintenance on electrical and HVAC systems, and adhering to safety protocols, including confined spaces and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Candidates should be capable of working independently with mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with electrical and HVAC equipment is preferred.
• Ability to work in permit-required confined spaces.
• Must complete SD1 Lock Out/Tag Out protocols.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned work orders and inspect completed jobs for quality.
• Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment including Electrical and HVAC systems.
• Work in or around confined spaces and near energized components.
• Apply basic welding and fabrication as needed.
• Ensure equipment and tools are used safely per SD1 procedures.
• Participate in safety classes and promote accident-free environment.
• Analyze and resolve equipment issues promptly.
• Balance multiple workloads and multitask efficiently.
