Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America seeks a Serviceman II at our cement plant in Mason City, IA to perform skilled maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. You will conduct preventive maintenance on conveyors, kilns, crushers, mills, and mobile equipment, diagnose faults from schematics, and perform repairs and overhauls including welding and fabrication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment including conveyors, crushers, kilns, mills, and mobile equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
• Perform repairs, replacements, and overhauls of bearings, gearboxes, motors, pumps, and instrumentation.
• Conduct welding, fabrication, and cutting operations as needed for repairs and modifications.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Operate heavy equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status.
• Communicate equipment status and repair progress with supervisors and other departments.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency breakdowns as required.
• Assist in training less experienced personnel and sharing technical knowledge.
