Job summary

Simmons Pet Food Inc in Emporia, KS is seeking a Plant Service Technician to maintain, repair and improve plant service systems including boiler, compressed air and refrigeration. This role requires a high school diploma and hands-on experience in welding, electrical or mechanical repair, and refrigeration or hydraulics.

Overtime may be required; must be able to lift 75–150 pounds and work in extreme temperatures on site within a poultry/food processing setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and good command of English.
• Experience or vocational training in welding, electrical or mechanical repair, and refrigeration or hydraulics.
• Preferred mid to senior level experience in industrial engineering, electrical, and mechanical repair.
• Industry experience in poultry or food processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces, corrects or affects equipment to ensure operation per production needs.
• Consults with engineers and vendors and performs layout work; troubleshoot equipment.
• Meet safety requirements and adhere to company policies and government regulations.
• Participate in team activities, communicate issues, and support continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties to support business objectives.
