Job summary

Simmons Pet Food Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Tech for night shift in Emporia, KS. The role focuses on repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment runs reliably for production needs.

The position requires experience in welding, electrical/mechanical repair, refrigeration or hydraulics, and a High School Diploma or equivalent. Candidates should be able to read and follow safety policies, work with engineers and vendors, and participate in team-based continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Must have experience or vocational training in welding, electrical or mechanical repair, and refrigeration or hydraulics.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Preference for poultry or food processing industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces, corrects or affects equipment as needed to ensure equipment operates correctly and efficiently according to production requirements.
• Consults with Engineers and vendors as needed. Accomplishes layout work for each project as needed. Will be able to troubleshoot equipment.
• Meets safety requirements in accomplishing responsibilities of this position complying with all policies or regulations set forth by Simmons or various government agencies concerning safety, environment, vehicle, handling of food products, packaging, ingredients and any related items.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives and participates in team development and policy implementation.
