Job summary

Simmons Foods in Emporia, Kansas is seeking a Plant Service Technician to maintain, repair, and improve plant service systems including boiler, compressed air, and refrigeration. Responsibilities include reporting daily progress to the Maintenance Supervisor, coordinating with planners, and honoring Simmons’ operating systems and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience or vocational training in welding, electrical or mechanical repair, and refrigeration or hydraulics.
• Minimum education includes a high school diploma; technical college or vocational training preferred.
• Mid to senior level experience in industrial maintenance is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and continuously improve plant service systems including boiler, compressed air, and refrigeration.
• Eliminate breakdowns to keep production running and safe.
• Report daily work summaries to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager and coordinate with the maintenance planner.
• Overtime may be required; work as part of the maintenance team with occasional apprenticeship supervision.
• Adhere to Simmons Operating systems and safety/environment policies.
