Description

TAMKO is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician (PMT) at our Ennis, Texas facility to perform maintenance activities including electrical and instrumentation work related to automation systems, ensuring compliance with reliability standards, conducting inspections, preventive maintenance, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues, including installation, programming, testing, and maintenance of equipment and devices.
  2. Inspect, disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble machinery and equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, and rolling stock.
  3. Perform maintenance reliability activities such as completing CM routes, lubrication routes, and preventive inspections.
  4. Test, calibrate, and repair field-level instruments, sensors, and controls, including troubleshooting open-loop and closed-loop systems using PID control.
  5. Cut and weld materials as needed for maintenance and repair activities.
  6. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, technical manuals, and electrical schematics; create mechanical and electrical diagrams, bills of materials, tool lists, and work/test plans for equipment upgrades or repairs.
  7. Operate a forklift safely and effectively during maintenance activities.
  8. Utilize SAP Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create and manage work orders, request parts, record work times, and write or update work procedures.
  9. Participate in and, when required, lead Root Cause Problem Elimination (RCPE) activities; support maintenance and engineering teams in building reliability into equipment and processes.
  10. Work collaboratively in a team environment, supervise contractor work when necessary, and support production teams to maximize equipment uptime, quality, and reliability, while complying with TAMKO’s safety standards and attendance policies.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Electrical training, PLC programming and maintenance training documented by certificate required.
  • Six Sigma training is preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dusts and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
  • Comply with all prescribed safety rules and proper use of personal protective equipment.
