Job summary

Silver Star Construction is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support asphalt plant operations. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspect and repair components, and help minimize downtime.

The role requires welding and fabrication work, equipment operation, and strict safety practices across outdoor plant environments. The position emphasizes teamwork with supervisors and other maintenance staff, with opportunities to test and validate repairs and ensure reliable plant

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude to work on industrial plant machinery.
• Ability to identify and assist with repairs and root causes.
• Experience welding, torch cutting, grinding, and metal fabrication.
• Comfort operating various types of plant equipment.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and hazard awareness.
• Clear communication and teamwork with supervisors and mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with both preventative and corrective maintenance on asphalt plant equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and repair or replace components (belts, screens, pumps, etc.).
• Help minimize equipment downtime and keep machinery operating efficiently.
• Assist in identifying mechanical problems and troubleshoot equipment systems.
• Operate plant machinery to test equipment after maintenance or repairs.
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and general fabrication as needed.
• Follow safety policies, document activities, and keep work area organized.
