Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company seeks a Senior Plant Technician to troubleshoot, tear down, rebuild, and repair on-site equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and welding skills are required to maintain reliable plant operations.

Responsibilities include inspections, preventive maintenance, component replacement, and record-keeping. COMBOWorkers must adhere to MSHA/OSHA and LOTO procedures and possess a valid driver’s license. Two-year technical training plus 5+ years in operations preferred.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years in operations, preferably in aggregate.
• MSHA certification or willingness to complete training.
• Active valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment before/after shifts and perform preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components (belts, idlers, pumps).
• Perform structural repairs, welding, cutting, and grinding as needed.
• Rebuild and fabricate parts.
• Order parts from approved vendors and drive to pick up items.
• Follow MSHA/OSHA and LOTO procedures and maintain a hazard-free area.
• Observe operations to spot anomalies and adjust as needed.
• Maintain service logs and maintenance records; assist with mobile equipment repairs.
• Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.
