Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 to 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in the aggregate, mining, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment commonly found in quarries and knowledge of inspection procedures.
• MSHA Certified (or willingness to complete required MSHA training).
• Active valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, lubricate moving parts, and complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components, including conveyor belts, idlers, pulleys, and water pumps.
• Perform structural repairs, welding, and replacement of heavy wear-parts with welding, cutting, and grinding.
• Rebuild and fabricate parts; order parts from approved vendors.
• Maintain service logs, lubrication reports, and maintenance records for plant equipment.
• Observe operations to identify anomalies and perform minor adjustments.
• Maintain a hazard-free work area per MSHA/OSHA; observe and enforce safety protocols.
