Vulcan Materials Company is seeking an entry-level General Maintenance helper to assist with a variety of general tasks around the worksite. Under supervision, you will learn basic maintenance functions and support the team while gaining exposure to preventative maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience in maintenance, preferably with heavy equipment.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Willingness to learn mechanical and maintenance fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, lubricate moving parts, and complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to prevent component failures.
• Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components, including conveyor belts, idlers, pulleys, and water pumps.
• Perform structural repairs, hard facing, and replace heavy wear-parts using welding, cutting, and grinding equipment.
• Adhere to MSHA and OSHA regulations, execute LOTO protocols, and maintain a hazard-free work area.
• Observe aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas during operation to identify anomalies by sight or sound and perform minor adjustments.
• Record and maintain service logs, lubrication reports, and maintenance records for plant equipment.
